April 15: Relief Updates
The recipients of donated funds are our colleagues and alumni of our exchange programs and other work in Ukraine. These individuals are community leaders who have established charitable organizations or NGOs in Ukraine. With electricity intermittent and internet increasingly limited, our partners are providing updates as often as is both feasible and safe.
With news of escalation on the eastern front, we are hearing from our partners that there are major drinking water shortages. Cities and villages under Russian military control do not have access to their municipal water systems, and in many areas all other drinkable water is sold out. Your donations this week will help purchase water filtration and/or purification systems to help people gain access to clean drinking water.
NGO Girls (Bucha and Kyiv region) $2000
Funds transferred are providing targeted financial aid to women and children in Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, and Vorzel, many of whom are left without means after the brutal siege and looting by the Russian military.
We have also received the following updates and reports regarding our previous transfers. Read below to see how your donations helped those experiencing hardship and strife in Ukraine.
From our colleagues at the St. Thomas Aquinas Institute in the Kharkiv region:
“Thanks to the donations from the Global Synergy Group we were able to extend help to Kaharlyk. Many internally displaced people have moved to Kaharlyk since the start of the conflict, and the funds transferred were used to help the local hospital transport critical medications from Kyiv to Kaharlyk.”
From the Parish of St. Spyridon Trimifunt in the Sumy region:
“For the second time, we were able to deliver food, personal hygiene products, cleaning and medical supplies, and baby food to three nearby villages.”
Total amount transferred to Ukraine to date is $89,650
