March 11: Relief Updates

The recipients are our colleagues and alumni of our exchange programs and other work in Ukraine. These individuals are community leaders who have established charitable organizations or NGOs in Ukraine and Poland.

NGO "CLAS" (Luhansk Region) $1,500

  • Monies to five orphanage residents from the Luhansk Region to sponsor their travel by train to the western border of Ukraine ($100 per person). 

  • Food and clothing for children, families, and the elderly who have lost their homes and are not able to evacuate .

  • Cash to assist with emergency shelter for displaced elderly and children in the Poltava Region.

Foundation "Flying Bag" (Poland) $1,000

  • Purchase of supplies from Poland, delivered across the border to Ukrainian communities in need.

 HRTC: Human Rights Training Center (Mykolaiv Region) $1,500

  • Cash for gasoline to transport elderly with disabilities to safety in the Mykolaiv Region.

Foundation “Union” (Kherson Region) $1,000

  • Purchased approximately forty bags of groceries for families in Kherson Region, enough to support each family for up to a week. More specific updates and reports can be viewed on the foundation’s site.
