March 18: Relief Updates

The recipients of donated funds are our colleagues and alumni of our exchange programs and other civic work in Ukraine. These individuals are community leaders who have established charitable organizations or NGOs in Ukraine and Poland. 

NGO “CLAS” (Luhansk Region) $6,750

  • Evacuation of orphanage residents and accommodation for 70 people

  • Purchase of food and clothing for refugees from Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, and Sumy

  • Purchase of mattresses and firewood to keep children warm 

HRTC: Human Rights Training Center (Mykolaiv Region) $3,250

  • Transporting people with disabilities from their apartments to shelters and/or other regions of Ukraine 

  • Purchasing water storage containers. 

Flying Bag International Movement Foundation (Poland) $6,500

  • Purchase and delivery of supplies requested by Ukrainian partners in need

  • Holistic assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Poland (approximately 200 people), including transportation, stipends, paperwork assistance, and food supplies

Kharkiv Volunteer Network $6,500

  • Overall support in the underground bomb shelters of Kharkiv and equipping shelters with food, water, etc.

  • Purchasing equipment and medical supplies for local defense groups

Kherson Foundation “Union$3,500

  • Purchasing and distributing groceries to 42 families in occupied territory, many of whom have no access to any other humanitarian aid

Rotary District 2332 – Kyiv $10,150

  • Medication and medical supplies for hospitals in Kyiv. 

Total amount transferred to Ukraine to date is $41,650.
