March 25: Relief Updates
The recipients of donated funds are our colleagues and alumni of our exchange programs and other civic work in Ukraine. These individuals are community leaders who have established charitable organizations or NGOs in Ukraine and Poland. With electricity intermittent and internet increasingly limited, our partners are providing updates as often as is both feasible and safe.
City of Boryspil (Kyiv Region) $1,000
Purchased body armor for civilian defenders of the City of Boryspil
Chuguiv Community via St. Thomas Aquinas Institute (Kharkiv Region) $3,000
Purchased and distributed medicine and medical supplies in Kharkiv and Donetsk regions
Kherson Foundation “Union” $10,000
A portion of this week’s funds were used to establish a food hub for families, children, and those who lost their jobs due to the occupation in Kherson. Groceries were purchased and delivered to the hub by volunteers. The hub will open next week, and any remaining funds will be used to purchase further food and supplies.
