May 6: Relief Updates

Thanks to our incredible donors, this week we crossed the $100,000 mark in donations. All of these donations have been used to save the lives of hundreds of people on the frontlines in Ukraine. As we talk to our partners, we are amazed at their resilience and gratitude for the outpouring of support from so many communities in the USA, Canada, and around the world.

Here’s how your donations have been making a difference this week.

- HRTC: Human Rights Training Center (Mykolaiv Region) $2,000

As the clean water shortage crisis persists, donated funds are being used to continue procuring large water containers and filtration machines, and to continue transporting water to the elderly and people with disabilities.

- Kherson Foundation “Union$2,000

In the past two weeks, volunteers were able to provide food packages to 127 families. In addition, they bought several water tanks, batteries, flashlights, and power banks. They are working on distributing these items so that in the event of water or electricity outages, people will still be able to get in touch and receive help for urgent needs. Additional funds will be used to purchase baby food to be added into food packages for families in need.

- Ukr Farm LLC (Kyiv and Boryspil) $2,000

Transferred funds will be used to continue supporting a military hospital in the Kyiv region which is currently receiving an increased volume of wounded defenders. Our partner on the ground is also using funds to respond to a variety of urgent needs in these communities and provide vital medications, such as insulin, which is proving difficult to procure at times.

- Parish of St. Spyridon Trimifunt (Sumy Region) $2,000

Father Oleksandr has been serving several villages in the Sumy region that have suffered from air raids and bombings. A lot of people have lost their homes or had their homes damaged. Funds this week are going towards purchasing food, hygiene products, and some basic construction materials for damage repairs.

You can read more about the work of Father Oleksandr Petrenko and his parish in the Orthodox Sumy Region publication.

Total amount transferred to Ukraine to date is $106,650
